Repartnering

Sole parents don't always remain as sole parents. Many repartner, but the factors involved in sole parenting remain. Child support, parenting across households, family law, etc don't go away. In fact, repartnering often just raises other issues.

  • What is your new partner's relationship with your children (parent? friend? something else?)
  • What do they call him/her?
  • If your new partner has children, how do you juggle the timetables for 2 sets of kids moving between households while trying to blend them into a family?
  • How do you make sure your ex-partner doesn't feel moved aside?

These are just some of the questions that have been raised with us as we go around talking with people, and some of what we hope to be addressing in this part of our site.

This part of the website is under construction

If you have any ideas, suggestions, resources or links please let us know. Or if you have any questions let us know them as well. You probably aren't the only one wondering, so if we can put something on the site you will probably help others in your situation.
